i know you’re enjoying your time inside growing and becoming strong, but please come quickly. i miss you so much already. and i desperately want to hold you in my arms- where i can see your face, touch you, and just watch you breathe. I want teach you all about the One who made you. come quickly, because i’m ready to dress you all up in bow ties and chuck taylors. i’m ready to hear those first words. i can’t wait to cheer you on at your first soccer game; and to watch you be a big brother to your other siblings. come quickly, so i can watch you grow!
oh but do stay, little cub. please stay inside me as long as possible so that i’ll have you all to myself. i am already fearing the day when you no longer call me “mommy.” stay, because i am afraid of so many things that i know are to come with raising a boy- your first day of school, the first time you are embarrassed to be seen with me in front of your friends, or that day when you take a wife and start your own family. stay, and don’t break my heart by growing up.
baby boy, come quickly. but please stay.
